Barrels
A timed cloverleaf barrel pattern. Fastest clean run wins, with penalties added for knocked barrels.
Breakaway
Contestants rope a calf, and the rope breaks away from the saddle horn when the catch is made. Fastest legal catch wins.
Breakaway (boys)
Contestants rope a calf, and the rope breaks away from the saddle horn when the catch is made. Fastest legal catch wins.
Breakaway (dummy)
Contestants rope a dummy or sled target in a timed run. This gives newer ropers a safe, repeatable way to compete
Breakaway (girls)
Contestants rope a calf, and the rope breaks away from the saddle horn when the catch is made. Fastest legal catch wins.
Chute Dogging
Contestants start in the chute with a steer and try to bring it to the ground correctly. Fastest legal time wins.
Double Mugging
A roping and tying event where the contestant ropes and secures the calf with help from a mugger.
Dummy Roping (on foot)
Contestants rope a non-moving sled calf on foot. Fastest legal catch wins.
Goat Ribbon Pull (on foot)
Contestants run on foot to pull a ribbon from the goat. This is usually a younger-contestant event focused on confidence and speed.
Goat Ribbon Pull (on horse)
Contestants ride to the goat, dismount, and pull the ribbon. A stepping-stone event before goat tying.
Goat Tying (on foot)
Contestants run to the goat and tie three legs. This is a timed event focused on quick handling and a secure tie.

Contestants ride to the goat, dismount, flank, and tie three legs. Fastest legal tie wins.
Goat Tying (on horse - girls)
Contestants ride to the goat, dismount, flank, and tie three legs. Fastest legal tie wins.

Mutton Bustin
Young contestants ride sheep for time or score. This is a crowd favorite and an entry-level roughstock event.
Poles
A timed weaving pattern through six poles. Speed and clean turns both matter, with penalties for knocked poles.

Team Roping
Two contestants work together as header and heeler to rope a steer. Fastest legal team time wins.
Tie Down
Contestants rope a calf, dismount, flank, and tie three legs. Time depends on both the catch and a legal, secure tie.
